Tour throughout the castle with coffee tabel

Our entertaining guided tour of the castle will give you more details about the 800 years of  history of the castle.

At the finish of the tour our guests can take a seat in the wonderful hall of coat of arms or in the more rustic cellar of the castle ruin and enjoy a coffee and cakes and pies within the unique ambience. Our cake and pies are made by a bakery located directly near the entry gate of the castle.

Whispering of he herbs

The smell of blooming herbs.

High above the valley oft he River Müglitz the herb gardens are leaning glamorously towards the base oft he castle. Here the herbs of thyme and comefreys are thrive besides common sorrel or wild spinach. On our tour you will learn about our castle gardens, medicinal herbs and, if you are interested, our guests can prepare their own herbal salt at the end of the tour.

It's the hour – a foray throughout the history of postal services in Saxony

Lady’s maid Johanna takes you on a time journey throughout the history of postal services in Saxony.

Besides many things worth knowing about the milestones you will hear things like who was the “brother-in-law high upon the wagon” (some lyrics of an german folk song), how far one hour would take you or whats ment by saying what’s the fifth wheel on a stage wagon.

From pedigree tables to pewter tableware - meeting point for seniors in the museum

Wir laden jeden 3. Donnerstagnachmittag (außer an Feiertagen), um 14:30 Uhr, zu unserem Seniorencafé "Von Ahnentafel bis Zinngeschirr" ins Museum ein. Im gemütlichen Museumsladen oder im Malzkeller erwartet Sie ein Vortrag über besondere Objekte aus der Sammlung des Museums oder über ein interessantes Thema aus der akutellen Ausstellung. Bei einer Tasse Kaffee können eigene Erfahrungen zum Thema ausgetauscht werden.
