Good luck!

It is said that everything comes from the mountains. This is impressively true at Lauenstein Castle and Church.

In the almost easternmost tip of the Ore Mountains, high above the Müglitztal, lies the small mountain town of Lauenstein. As the former mining administrative center of an entire region, the rule and town of Lauenstein became rich. The impressive castle and the artfully decorated church with the valuable sandstone altar and the famous sandstone epitaph of the von Bünau family still bear witness to this today. The castle and church are part of the “Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří mining region”, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list with a total of 17 components in 2019.
